With our British summers becoming hotter, more and more couples are venturing outdoors for their nuptials; chosing a celebrant led wedding over the traditional church, registry office or stately home style is the hot trend for 2020.
But where do you start with styling such an event? The options are endless when you’re no longer restricted by venue, location or even having a roof! Which is so refreshing, not to be told you can or can’t do something. However, the rules are sometimes a blessing in disguise; it gives you a starting point! Here’s a few ideas for a gorgeous woodland wedding that I just love!
Use your surroundings
This gorgeous ceremony was held in lovely woodland on the Overgrown Acres Wedding Venue site in Cotgrave, Nottingham. The celebrant delivered a beautiful and personal ceremony for this love struck couple, using the floral ring behind as the perfect backdrop amongst the trees.
Think about your flowers
It would be really easy to go bright and bold with an outdoor wedding, chosing a bouquet of wild flowers to offset the neutral green. But it’s all about the greenery in 2020, these soft palettes against the woodland trees works perfectly.
Dress to impress
Just because you’re outside, doesn’t mean you can dress down, no no… it’s your wedding day, big dresses are always welcome, even outdoors! I especially love this one from Elizabeth Malcolm, award winning dress designer in Derbyshire.
By Invitation Only
Set the tone of your big day with these lovely natural pocket invitations, wrapped up with lace. Your guests are sure to be impressed with these invitations and be excited about what’s to come on your big day. Give a peek of the outdoor wedding essence without giving the whole day away, perfect!
The detail is in the dog…
A whimsical woodland wedding wouldn’t be complete without your furry friend! And without the restrictions of a standard wedding venue, why not bring your fur baby?
